+o On startup, IRIS Annotator sets the audio recording
sampling rate to 11.025kHz, overriding the current
Audio Panel setting. If you prefer higher quality
recording you can change the rate using the Audio Panel
after invoking IRIS Annotator, but before recording
notes. To bring up the Audio Panel, either type
``apanel'' from the shell, or select ``Audio Control''
from the Desktop submenu of the Toolchest. Note, that
higher quality recordings can result in significantly
larger Annotator files.
+o Be aware, that once you've renamed an external note
file (using the Playback Options Dialog), IRIS
Annotator no longer owns the file. This means, for
example, if you rename the external note, then exit
Annotator without saving, the file has been renamed,
but the note still refers to the old name.
Consequently, if you read in the Annotator file again,
the note cannot be played. Also, if you delete the note
from the Annotator scene, the external data file is not
removed by Annotator.
+o If you non-uniformly scale a scene object, the attached
arrows will also be scaled. If you do a non-uniform
scale, and decide you don't like the way the arrows
look, remember that ``Undo'' in the Edit menu will undo
the transformations. If you really need to scale the
object without the arrows, move the arrows temporarily
to another object.
+o Note that "Select Child" and "Select Parent" only make
sense if the selected model is constructed from a
hierarchy of subobjects. If you try to use the feature
and you don't see a change in the selection, then the
model probably does not have subobjects.
+o If IRIS Annotator dies when the Draw Style in the
viewer has been set to "points", you need to install
one of the recommended patches from the CD. The
problem is caused by an OpenGL bug that has been fixed.
Install the patch named _p_a_t_c_h_S_G_0_0_0_0_3_6_0._e_o_e_1__s_w.
+o See also the "Troubleshooting" section in the online
IRIS Annotator User's Guide.
