  10.           +o On startup, IRIS Annotator sets the audio recording
  11.             sampling rate to 11.025kHz, overriding the current
  12.             Audio Panel setting.  If you prefer higher quality
  13.             recording you can change the rate using the Audio Panel
  14.             after invoking IRIS Annotator, but before recording
  15.             notes.  To bring up the Audio Panel, either type
  16.             ``apanel'' from the shell, or select ``Audio Control''
  17.             from the Desktop submenu of the Toolchest.  Note, that
  18.             higher quality recordings can result in significantly
  19.             larger Annotator files.

  21.           +o Be aware, that once you've renamed an external note
  22.             file (using the Playback Options Dialog), IRIS
  23.             Annotator no longer owns the file.  This means, for
  24.             example, if you rename the external note, then exit
  25.             Annotator without saving, the file has been renamed,
  26.             but the note still refers to the old name.
  27.             Consequently, if you read in the Annotator file again,
  28.             the note cannot be played. Also, if you delete the note
  29.             from the Annotator scene, the external data file is not
  30.             removed by Annotator.

  32.           +o If you non-uniformly scale a scene object, the attached
  33.             arrows will also be scaled. If you do a non-uniform
  34.             scale, and decide you don't like the way the arrows
  35.             look, remember that ``Undo'' in the Edit menu will undo
  36.             the transformations.  If you really need to scale the
  37.             object without the arrows, move the arrows temporarily
  38.             to another object.

  40.           +o Note that "Select Child" and "Select Parent" only make
  41.             sense if the selected model is constructed from a
  42.             hierarchy of subobjects.  If you try to use the feature
  43.             and you don't see a change in the selection, then the
  44.             model probably does not have subobjects.

  46.           +o If IRIS Annotator dies when the Draw Style in the
  47.             viewer has been set to "points", you need to install
  48.             one of the recommended patches from the CD.  The
  49.             problem is caused by an OpenGL bug that has been fixed.
  50.             Install the patch named _p_a_t_c_h_S_G_0_0_0_0_3_6_0._e_o_e_1__s_w.
